Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh jalapeños
  • 2 cups white granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Wearing food-safe gloves, slice the jalapeños into rounds and set aside.
  2. In a medium pot, combine sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, celery seed, turmeric, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil; then simmer for about 5 minutes until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the sliced jalapeños to the pot and bring back to a boil. Simmer for another 5 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  4. Use tongs to transfer the jalapeños into pint jars. Boil the remaining liquid for about 5 minutes to reduce it further.
