  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create four cutlets. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Reserve two tablespoons for thickening the gravy.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Dredge each piece of chicken in the seasoned flour and brown for about 5 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet.
  5. Lower heat to medium-low, add butter, and sauté onions until soft and golden (15-20 minutes).
  6. Stir in reserved flour for one minute to thicken.
  7. Add chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce; scrape the pan to incorporate flavors.
  8. Stir in heavy cream and return the chicken to the skillet. Cook until fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes).
  9. Adjust seasoning as necessary and serve warm.
